Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion's high-profile felony assault case has recently taken its highly-awaited start yesterday, and the proceedings have uncovered a lot more new information on the blurry pool party that started the issue in the first place.

According to TMZ, Megan Thee Stallion's camp claimed that Tory fired five shots last July 2020, injuring the female rapper on the feet.

Apparently, the real reason why Tory shot Megan was that the latter allegedly insulted the former of his skills - calling him sarcastically a "beautiful artist."

This tipped off Tory, prompting him to shoot Megan. Back then, it was widely reported that Lanez then started to fire at Megan when she left the SUV they were in, with Lanez yelling "Dance, Bitch!" as he fires.

However, in the new proceeding, new timelines were being pieced together.

Per Tory Lanez's accounts: Megan Thee Stallion, along with her best friend and assistant at the time Kelsey Harris, was invited along with Lanez to Kylie Jenner's 2020 pool party. While still at the party, it was claimed that Megan has been rowdy and was asked to leave the event.

She then went home with Lanez and Harris in the SUV driven by Lanez's security guard Jauquan Smith, the man who allegedly owned the 9mm gun.

Per TMZ, Lanez's defense is trying to pivot the blame away from the Canadian rapper, making the jury believe that he was not the triggerman. His defense, George Mgdesyan even argued that Lanez's DNA was never found on the gun and had apparently worn a swimsuit during the incident, henceforth asking the question of - where would he have pulled the gun from.

However, Prosecution (Megan's side) exhibited incriminating evidence pointing to Lanez's admission of guilt after the incident.

"Meg. I know u prolly never gone to talk to me again. But genuinely I want u to know I'mn sorry from the bottom of my heart And I was just too drunk None the less shit should have never happened and I can't change what did . I feel horrible," Lanez said in a flurry of text messages sent to Megan.

According to other sources, Lanez's camp is trying to put the blame on Kelsey Harris as the person who fired the gun and not Lanez.

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone says that the Prosecution will rely on Harris on proving that Lanez was actually liable.

"Kelsey, she'll tell you she didn't know if the defendant still had this gun. She didn't know what the defendant was capable of if he was going to continue his assault. Her defensive instincts kicked into gear, and she approached the defendant. She'll tell you the defendant physically assaulted her at that point. He pulled her by her hair, and he either punched her or slapped her," the prosecution told the court.

If convicted, Tory Lanez will be facing 22 years and eight months in jail and deportation from the United States since he is a Canadian citizen.
