Taylor Swift is, of course, capping up 2022 with a bang and on top.

More than six million album-equivalent copies of her most recent album, "Midnights," are said to have been sold globally, with three million of those sales occurring in the US.

According to NME, the "Lavender Haze" singer sold that many units in 60 days, shattering the previous record for music sales.

Additionally, Taylor's most recent album had the distinction of being the first since 2015 to sell over a million physical copies.

The "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" singer now holds the record for being the only performer to have five albums that sold more than a million copies in their first week of release.

The 33-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is a "multidimensional creative powerhouse whose achievements position her among the most successful performers in the history of music," according to a statement published by Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge.

We are happy and privileged to collaborate with her over such a wide range of her career, he exclaimed.

The "Anti-Hero" singer also rejoiced over her nomination for "Carolina," from the film "Where the Crawdads Sing," for Outstanding Song from A Drama or Documentary from the Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards.

She will be competing against fellow musicians Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand" and Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" from the film "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Her song is now on an unofficial shortlist for the Academy Award.

She received a lot of praise for her short film "All Too Well," which went on to become 2021's most significant moment in pop culture and win an MTV Video Music Award and an American Music Award. Unfortunately, though, it was not nominated for an Academy Award in the "Best Live Action Short Film" category in 2023.

Because the little video had previously generated some Oscar buzz, fans were disappointed.

However, because "Carolina" is also up for Best Original Song, Taylor Swift hasn't been totally disqualified from consideration.

Following the announcement of the Oscar nominations, one Taylor fan expressed their dissatisfaction on Twitter, writing, "You can ignore her all you want. I am aware that Taylor can accomplish everything she sets her mind to. Sooner or later, she'll take home the Oscar. You have my word.

Some of Taylor's followers were reportedly devastated by the news since they knew how proud she was of "All Too Well: The Short Film."

Beginning in March, Taylor Swift will perform 52 concerts in stadiums across North America as part of her "The Eras" tour.
