Jeremy Renner was involved in a tragic accident, but according to a spokesperson for him, he is stable despite being in critical condition.

A "traumatic injury" was reported by the authorities on Reno's Mount Rose Highway.

The 51-year-old "Avengers" star was taken to a local hospital after being the lone person involved in the snow plowing tragedy.

A nearby storm caused road closures and thousands of homes losing power in Northern California and Nevada.

The degree of Jeremy's injuries or other contributing factors were not disclosed by the Washoe County Sheriff's office. The events are also being investigated by their Major Accident Investigation Team.

Jeremy Renner Condition

According to reports, Jeremy Renner was gravely hurt while clearing snow. He received injuries "after encountering a weather-related mishap while plowing snow earlier today," a representative informed Hollywood Reporter.

"His family is by his side, and he is getting first-rate care."

In the Sierra Nevada highlands, above Lake Tahoe, where Jeremy owns a ranch, a winter storm descended on New Year's Eve. In fact, the "Mayor of Kingstown" actor previously said that Lake Tahoe's snowfall is "no joke" and tweeted a photo of the area covered in snow on his Twitter page last month.

What Does 'Critical but Stable' Condition Mean?

According to a WebMD article quoted in HITC, a critical state is one in which a person's vital signs are unstable and outside of normal ranges.

The patient can still be unconscious or require "critical" care in an intensive care unit of a hospital.

Per the American Hospital Association's (AHA) recommendations for patient status, the term "critical" designates the most dangerous condition and is followed by the terms "serious," "fair," and "good."

Additionally, they urged individuals to refer to patients with life-threatening injuries as "serious but stable" "from those with a better prognosis."
