Donald Glover surprised fans when he announced that he will no longer make and release music as Childish Gambino-but he's now singing a different tune six years later.

During his appearance at the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, the actor-slash-musician revealed that he is not totally through with music, and in fact is making a comeback.

"I'm actually working, I'm in the studio. I've been bringing people in, like secret people, working on little things," Glover told E News.

"But I just been, you know, making it for fun right now. But soon something will happen, I promise. Something will happen."

When asked for further confirmation and reassurance that his music alter ego Childish Gambino will be returning, he replied: "You don't have to worry about that ... He'll be back."

Years-Long Wait

According to reports, the hit-maker announced his retirement from the music industry, noting that he would only come back if "there's a reason."

Fans never lost hope that Glover would come back to make and release music again, despite Glover's initial insistence on the matter.

In 2018, he announced that he was dead set on his decision: "I stand by that. I'm really appreciative of this. I'm making another project right now, but I like endings, I think they're important to progress."

Whatever the reason might be, Glover has confirmed his return, and fans cannot wait-which is understandable, after all, Glover is known to be a hit-maker.

He first released his debut studio album "Camp" in 2011, followed by "Because the Internet" in 2013.

His critically acclaimed work came in 2016 when he released his third studio album "Awaken, My Love!"

It peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart, as well as several Grammy Award nominations for album of the year and best urban contemporary.

"Redbone," a single off the well-loved album also earned the actor-slash-singer nominations for record of the year and best R&B song at the Grammy Awards. It also won best traditional R&B performance.

While he was on hiatus from the music scene, he focused mainly on his acting career.

In 2021, he signed with Amazon Studios and began working on the television reboot of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," a 2005 movie that starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

He has been involved in several shows and movies like "Han Solo: A Star Wars Story," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and "The Lion King."
