The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards 2023 is coming up, and it just unveiled its list of nominees, which includes some of the biggest stars in the music industry today.

Variety reported that Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna were among the artists nominated for the annual award show, and they're all up against each other for the best song category.

Guild of Music Supervisors is a non-profit organization that promotes music supervision in film, television, games, advertising, trailers and other media of the same nature; this year will be the 13th anniversary of its award show.

Alongside the three aforementioned stars, other artists and songwriters were nominated under the Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film, including Doja Cat for "Vegas" in the biopic "Elvis"; Diana Ross and Tame Impala for "Turn Up the Sunshine" in "Minions: The Rise of Gru"; Ruth B for "Paper Airplanes" in "A Jazzman's Blues"; Misty Miller for "Honey To The Bee" in "Catherine Called Birdy", and more.

Swift was nominated for "Carolina" in "Where the Crawdads Sing," while Lady Gaga was nominated for "Hold My Hand" in "Top Gun: Maverick" and Rihanna for "Lift Me Up" in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

All three women were also credited as songwriters of their respective songs; Swift was the sole writer, while Lady Gaga and Rihanna were accompanied by other co-writers.

According to reports, the award show will commence on Mar. 5, but deadlines for submission and guidelines have long since passed.

Back in Oct. 18 last year, the Guild of Music Supervisors opened its submission portals, and finally closed on Nov. 30, a little over a month later.

Nominees were announced on Jan. 23, and the voting process will commence. Fans can put in their votes until Feb. 6, and wait for the results, which will be announced on the awarding day a month later.

Unlike other award shows, the Guild of Music Supervisors is a but more lowkey, but just as important and impactful to the fans and the nominee's career.

"The event was very successful in bringing new discussions and topics to the forefront with regards to our craft," said Madonna Wade-Reed, vice president of the Guild of Music Supervision.

"There was something for everyone. Best all, our community had the opportunity to be together, in person, for the first time in over 2 and a half years and it showed how much we all need a bit of that as well."
