Punky boy band and One Direction protégés 5 Seconds Of Summer just released its debut, self-titled album last month, but the "Amnesia" group is already looking forward to album No. 2. In a new interview, 5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin teased that his band is already thinking about the follow-up to 5 Seconds of Summer.

"We definitely would like to have another album out there some time next year. We'll start working on it and see what happens," he told Billboard.

Though Irwin and co. seem to be eyeing a release date before the massive 5SOS Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour next year, he admitted they hadn't quite hit the studio yet, due to One Direction Where We Are Tour commitments.

"We've been on tour [with One Direction] for a few months, so we've just been playing lots of tour and doing lots of promo," Irwin said. "We haven't had much time to get back in the studio at the moment."

Though later, he admitted that his experiences on the road could play into the second 5SOS album. "I think when you're on the road you've got to just live out what's happening, then when you get back to the studio you've got a lot to write about. I don't want to write the same album again, so I go out there and see what life has for me, and then I'll go back and I'll write about it," he said. "We've got a lot of time coming up, actually, to write and record again, so I'm really looking forward to that 'cause I'm feeling like I miss that at the moment."

5 Seconds of Summer is currently supporting 1D on its North American tour, with upcoming dates taking them to Houston (Aug. 22), Chicago (Aug. 29, 30), California and more. The band will be taking a short break from the tour, however, to take on the 2014 MTV VMAs as live performers.
