Lil Tjay's health is yet to fully recuperate nearly a year after his near-fatal shooting incident.

The growing number of violence and crimes in the hip-hop industry unceasingly grew in the past years, with Lil Tjay becoming one of the victims in 2022. The rapper, who made his comeback in the industry after the traumatic event, spent weeks in a hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said in a press statement that the shooting happened on June 22. The Edgewater Police Department received calls informing them about shots fired around the 14 The Promenade.

Upon arrival, they found Lil Tjay and Antonoine Boyde, who both suffered gunshot wounds.

A few months after the incident, Lil Tjay revealed how he still struggles because of the trauma.

On Twitter, the Bronx native rapper shared multiple updates regarding the recent difficulties he recently went through. He also spoke candidly about how the incident left him with PTSD.

According to the American Counseling Association, shooting incidents interrupt a person's sense of order and safety. The intensity of the shocking and tragic events can lead to mental health issues, including PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

PTSD, on the other hand, is triggered by a terrifying and stressful event.

But aside from the shooting incident, AllHipHop noted that Lil Tjay's recent commotion with the police probably contributed to the intensity of what he thinks and feels.

Lil Tjay Arrested Months After Shooting Incident

In January, Lil Tjay was arrested in the Bronx while he was on his way to film a video with Ice Spice. The New York City Police Department reportedly made the arrest at a traffic stop at 183rd Street and Ryer Avenue around 4 p.m due to an alleged weapons violation.

Unnamed sources revealed that police officers found a handgun inside his vehicle before the arrest. He was then taken to a police station and booked for weapon possession.

New York Post reported there were four others taken into custody, and two of them were charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

His attorney, Dawn Florio, explained to AllHipHop that the rapper was not rearrested for another gun charge.

"He was excused from appearing in court last Friday by the arraignment judge. Another judge revoked his bond and put him back in jail for missing court on Friday even though he was told by the first judge that he did not have [to] appear," the lawyer continued.
