Before all of the Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner drama, Selena Gomez lived a drama-free life as a Disney channel star.

She played the lead role of Alex Russo in the fantasy teen sitcom series "Wizards of Waverly Place."

Not only did she become a household name in Disney thanks to the show, but she also gained a large following because of it.

During her appearance in "Wizards of Waverly Pod," she revealed just how carefree, drama-free, and great that time of her life was.

"I can't begin to tell you guys without making it such a little cry session, I felt like I was the happiest I'd been in my whole life," Gomez told her former co-stars, Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise. "And I don't want that to be a sad thought because I'm really grateful and happy."

"But it was definitely the happiest times for me, and I recognize that obviously I have this different attention on me that I just didn't have then and that was a really pure time."

The "Lose You to Love Me" singer is referring to the success and fame she has gained years after her stint at Disney.

Post-Disney Life

She began as a child star, but these days, she is better known as the founder of the makeup brand Rare Beauty, a Golden Globe Award nominee, a Primetime Emmy Awardee, a producer, and a recording artist.

According to reports, she was also hailed as the most-followed woman on Instagram-which actually led to a myriad of controversies.

The "Only Murders in the Building" surpassed Kylie Jenner, which sparked an alleged feud between the two.

However, despite all her achievements, Gomez also struggled with her health and private life.

"At one point Instagram became my whole world, and it was really dangerous. In my early 20s, I felt like I wasn't pretty enough," she revealed in a previous interview. "There was a whole period in my life when I thought I needed makeup and never wanted to be seen without it."

These days, the star seems to be more comfortable with her skin, and in fact, became an advocate against body shaming.

"I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself," she explained. "My medications are important, and I believe that they're what helps me."

Gomez acquired the autoimmune disease Lupus several years back.
