A newly-elected congressman went viral for a lengthy speech he gave on the House floor in which he praised Beyoncé.
While Queen Bey is undoubtedly praised left and right in the world of music, it's quite surprising to see such in the arena of politics.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) was spotted on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, just hours after delivering an impassioned speech about the end of Black History Month and the beginning of Women's History Month, invoking Queen Bey to connect the two.
Rep. Garcia explained himself perfectly in his tribute to the legendary musician, correctly remarking that Beyoncé is, well, fantastic, but going beyond that, he explained why he felt she was the most deserving recipient. Watch the video below:
Beyoncé has accomplished the unusual achievement of being both an entertainer and an activist, which places her in a new category of celebrity, according to him. He adds that it is precisely because of this that she deserves to be recognized in a positive manner.
Some won't agree with the congressman though. Some fans are now questioning Beyonce's beliefs after performing in "homophobic" Dubai.

However, many were quick to criticize the performer for mentioning the LGBT community in her acceptance speech after she was paid $24 million to play in the notoriously homophobic city of Dubai, where she did not sing any songs from her new LGBTQ+ album.
Beyoncé performed for the first time in four years to commemorate the opening of the new luxury hotel Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, attracting an array of worldwide celebrities. She was criticized for not performing any songs from the career, with many fans claiming they were "struggling" to comprehend why she would agree to a concert in Dubai when so many other artists, like Nicki Minaj, refused to play there.
