Is Billie Eilish really done with social media?

The "Happier Than Ever" singer revealed during her appearance in the "Conan O' Brien Needs A Friend" Musician Series" that she deleted all the social media applications from her phone.

"I don't look at it anymore. I've deleted it all off my phone which is such a huge deal for me," she remarked.

"You didn't have the internet to grow up with ... I feel like I grew up in the perfect time of the internet that wasn't so internet-y that I didn't have a childhood."

However, despite growing up with the Internet around, she explains how she still managed to have a childhood offline because social media and games weren't as well developed and widespread as they are now.

"I really had such a childhood and I was doing stuff all the time. It was computer and games on computers, but barely."

Born on Dec. 18, 2001, Eilish was exposed to the Internet since she was a child, however she also noted that it had its downsides.

"Anything I read on the internet I believe," she explains her frustrations. "Me! And I know for a fact that's stupid and I shouldn't do that because I have proof that it's not all true."

She knows fact from fiction when she sees one, of course, however she noted that it's the little white lies that always gets her.

""It's, like, little things, small white lies, that go over everybody's head, but everyone believes."

As one of the most prominent and successful young artists of the generation, Eilish is constantly talked about on the Internet and is a favorite topic among netizens on social media.

"It was like, 'Billie Eilish is a horrible person.' And then it was a very serious video of why," she elaborated.

"It's just such a crazy reality that I live in. I'm like, 'That's my face. That's my name. That's me. Oh, interesting. OK. Alright.'"

The young star has grappled with the negative attention that came with her success, such as the time when netizens found her relationship with musician Jesse Rutherford disturbing, given their age gap.

She further explained how it feels to be judged and criticized online: "God came down and said, 'This is the truth about Billie and you know it for a fact. You don't know her, but you know that this is the truth and you have to tell everybody about it and everyone's going to believe it.'"
