Justin Bieber spent his birthday with his closest friends and family over the weekend.

One notable absence from the guest list was his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, however many fans feel he included a reference to the "Come and Get It" singer in the party treats he distributed on the day.

Guests who attended the "Holy" singer's 29th birthday bash were given a silver souvenir that were engraved with the words, "I'm so thankful that I didn't end up with what I thought I wanted."

Several fans feel Justin made fun of the former Disney channel actress amid reports that she is feuding with Justin's wife, Hailey Bieber.

While the former YouTube sensation did not explain the significance of the present, people immediately thought it was a dig at the "Lose You To Love Me" singer and labeled Justin "petty."

"This present says'still living in the past' to me, so is he implying he didn't want her?" one person tweeted.

"This is so petty, I mean if that's how you and your wife feel, keep that petty sht to yourself haha," said another.

Yet, some fans soon pointed out that it may have just been innocent implications, with one stating, "can't believe people are reading this maliciously. Justin is expressing he's glad for the life he has as it is."

Selena Gomez addressed the topic on TikTok shortly after Justin Bieber was accused of throwing shade, imploring people to "be kind" and stressing she just wanted what was "good for everyone."

The conflict between Justin, Selena, and Hailey stems from an unearthed video of Hailey criticizing Taylor Swift while co-hosting "Drop the Mic."

Since then, online people have labeled Hailey a "mean girl" since she earlier released a video of herself with Kendall Jenner and Justin Skye lip-syncing to audio that read, "I'm not saying she deserves it, but God's time is always right."
