Videos of Costa Titch collapsing while performing at a music festival led the public to create different speculations on his potential cause of death. He was 28.

Police confirmed Sunday that South African rapper Costa Titch, whose real name was Costa Tsobanoglou, died "suddenly" on stage while performing on Saturday evening. He was one of the performers at the Ultra South Africa concert in Johannesburg, Nasrec.

His family has since released a statement on Instagram confirming his passing, writing, "It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are thankful for those emergency responders and all those present in his last hours."

The bereaved family did not reveal his cause of death. Meanwhile, police said a post-mortem would be done to find out what happened to Costa Titch.

Videos on different social media accounts surfaced following his performance. The clips captured the rapper performing on stage when he suddenly fell.

He continued singing. However, he collapsed again, prompting artists to check on him.

While Costa Titch's real cause of death is yet to be determined, speculations and theories have arisen online.

Costa Titch's Cause of Death Health-Related or Drug-Related?

On Twitter, fans started sharing their thoughts about Costa Titch's cause of death. One also noted the current buzz surrounding his passing, including exhaustion, heart attack, underlying illness, vaccine, or drugs.

Some said the rapper definitely died due to his drug use. One user wrote, "This what happens when you rely on drugs to give you strength. This N*gga was always high on drugs. RIP ma Ni*gga Costa Titch."

 
However, these assumptions should be taken with a grain of salt as the exact cause is yet to be disclosed to the public.

Amid the rumors, Ultra South Africa expressed how devastated it is by Costa Titch's sudden death.

Costa Titch had been working on his empire in the hiphop industry for years before his death. As a rising star in amapiano - a South African musical style - he was signed to Akon's Konvict Kulture agency. He recently worked with Akon on "Big Flexa."

The late rapper also brought home the awards for best collaboration and a best remix from the 2020 South African Hip Hop Awards for his track, "Nkalatha."

His passing happened a month after his friend and collaborator, rapper AKA, died in a shooting incident in South Africa.

AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, was shot and killed outside a Durban restaurant. A probe into the shooting has since been launched, with the police focusing on the potential contract killing.
