Motherhood was never easy. Many artists in the industry could attest to that. That is why when, 25-year-old "American Idol" auditionee Sara Beth Liebe, was seemingly shamed by Katy Perry during her audition, many people online called out the singer.

Already a mother of three at the young age of 25, Liebe considers her family the best thing that happened to her. Weeks after her audition and awkward encounter with Perry hit online, she has finally spoken out about the issue.

Katy Perry 'Mom-Shamed' American Idol Auditionee

To say that Katy Perry was shocked and stunned upon learning that "American Idol" auditionee Sara Beth Liebe was a mother of three already is an understatement.

The "Roar" hitmaker bolted up and jokingly passed out on the table.

"If Katy lays on the table, I think I'm going to pass out," Liebe happily joked. But Perry's response was rather unflattering: "Honey, you've been laying on the table too much."

The comment seemed to not faze Liebe at the time as she went on to audition with "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse. However, the judges seemed to not be convinced with her performance - which prompted her to sing a cover of Elton John's "Bennie and The Jets."

Eventually, Perry and Bryan were convinced of Liebe's performance and gave her a golden ticket to Hollywood Week.

Meanwhile, the comments online after the song was uploaded were quite unforgiving for Perry as she was continuously slammed and called out for her insensitive and mom-shaming joke.

Sara Beth Liebe Response Video

In a TikTok video that Liebe uploaded recently, she finally spoke about the issue that has since gone viral on social media.

According to Liebe, it was "embarrassing" to have been called like that on live television.

"It was hurtful and that's that," she added. "I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool, and I think that mom shaming is super lame and I think that it's hard enough to be a mom and it's hard enough to be a woman."

@sarabethliebeWell. I didnt think id be making this video, but i just wanted to say a couple things since im being flooded with articles and comments/messages about this.  ♬ original sound - Sara Beth

Like Liebe, Perry is also a mother, which made fans online angry as she was supposed to be more mindful of her comments like that.

As of this writing, Perry has not yet responded nor given any comment on the issue.
