Fans were shocked when Saliva announced online that their guitarist, Wayne Swinny, is currently in the ICU after a shocking medical emergency.

Taking to their official Facebook page, the Tennessee-based rock band revealed that the musician was discovered in medical distress on Tuesday morning.

Paramedics then got involved and he was rushed to the hospital. After being checked by doctors, Swinny was diagnosed with a "Spontaneous Hemorrhage in his brain."

"He is currently in the ICU as we await further news. We ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers at this time," the band concluded.

As of this writing, there is no further information about the current state of his health. It's also unclear if he's responsive.

What is a Spontaneous Hemorrhage?

According to the Journal of Neurosurgery, the Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, also known as SICH, is a blood cot that arises in the brain.

This medical condition happens to 10 to 15% of all strokes and it has a higher mortality rate compared to other types of strokes.

Who is Wayne Swinny?

According to Loudwire, the guitarist is the only remaining member from the band's original lineup and he was one of the founders. This comes after singer Josey Scott left the band in 2011 and bassist Dave Novotny in 2015.

They were able to reunite with each other in September when they performed at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival.

Saliva's current members Bobby Amaru, Brad Stewart, Sammi Bishop, and Swinny, are set to perform in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but it's unclear whether the group will push through with their scheduled show.
