As of this writing, his family members have yet to share an official announcement online regarding the musician's death, but LFO shared a statement of their own on their official Facebook page.

"Brian 'Brizz' Gillis passed away. I don't have details and it wouldn't be my place to share them if I did. I am really struggling to process this tragic loss. I've said it before and I will continue to say it; the LFO Story is a tragedy," Brad Fischetti wrote.

Brian 'Brizz' Gillis Was a Part of LFO

Gillis was one of the co-founders of the 90s group Lyte Funkie Ones, also known as LFO, in 1995. The Massachusetts-based band derived its name from the members' skin color.

The group, consisting of the late singer, Brad Fischetti, and Rich Cronin, was popularly known for their pop-rap music. They were able to release several singles like "(Sex U Up) The Way You Like It" and "Step by Step," originally sung by New Kids on the Block.

LFO later relocated to Florida to explore more of their success as they were able to strike a deal with Trans Con record label by Lou Pearlman, making them more famous than ever.

Gillis later ventured out into a solo career, leading Devin Lima to join the group. Despite his departure, the band decided to retain his vocal contributions on their self-titled album released in 1999.

After LFO dropped its next record, they disbanded in 2002. At the time, the late singer continued his career and was able to tour across colleges.
