Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, have been suffering media backlash ever since it was made public that the latter was accused of rape as a minor.

But the accuser already recanted her statements but later on revealed that she was pressured to do so by Minaj's camp.

Nicki Minaj, Kenneth Petty vs Jennifer Hough Lawsuit

According to an exclusive report from AllHipHop, a judge denied Nicki Minaj's request to sanction Jennifer Hough's lawyer for alleged defamatory language against her while presenting the case to a judge.

Jennifer Hough, who was Petty's ex-girlfriend back then, recanted her initial statements to the court. She has named Minaj and Petty in a new lawsuit, alleging that they have pressured her into recanting it. However, Hough then dropped Minaj out of it.

Initially, Hough publicly claimed that she was offered a sum of $500,000 to drop her case against Petty. She even said that the couple hired private detectives to intimidate her and even harass her daughter, prompting her to relocate from state to state, fearing for her life.

Nicki Minaj is now counter-suing her for the alleged defamatory language that her lawyer has spewed. The publication noted that Hough and her lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, dropped her after initially going for a default judgment.

Nicki Minaj Loses Ability to Sanction Defamatory Language

Per Minaj, she had wasted over $300,000 just to defend herself and a lot of bad publicity, just to be dropped out of the lawsuit eventually. She was removed from the lawsuit after it was ruled out that the New York court where the lawsuit was served lacked jurisdiction in Los Angeles, where she currently lives.

While in the process of accusing Minaj, Blackburn was said to have made some defamatory statements accusing Minaj and Petty of being members of the New York gang Makk Baller Brims.

"The court does not find [Hough's] decision to pursue a motion for default judgment against [Nicki] sanctionable, notwithstanding [Nicki's] claim that the motion lacked merit," the document read.

However, despite the statements sounding "inflammatory" and "offensive," the court emphasized that this should not be an endorsement of Blackburn's behavior inside the court.
