Dua Lipa will take the role of your favorite childhood doll!
Aside from being a successful musician who released songs and albums since her debut years ago, it appears that the pop star is venturing out into a whole new industry as she's set to star in Greta Gerwig's live-action film, "Barbie."
Many fans were shocked when the "Levitating" songstress took to her official Instagram account to share the announcement by posting a photo of herself dressed as a mermaid. "This Barbie is a mermaid!!" she wrote in the caption. (check out the post below)
In the movie poster, which was recently released, the musician donned a mermaid costume complete with a shell bra and a sparkly scaled skirt.
To complete her under-the-water fantasy look, Lipa accessorized her ensemble with a bead necklace and a pair of pearl hoop earrings. She also wore a vibrant blue wig.
Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" will hit theaters on July 21, 2023. Other cast members include Margot Robbie as Barbie, Ryan Gosling as Ken, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, and more.

Dua Lipa to Write an Official Soundtrack for 'Barbie'?
According to Daily Mail UK, it appears that Dua Lipa will not just be an actress in the upcoming film as she will reportedly use her vocal skills for an alleged official soundtrack.
The outlet confirmed that the 27-year-old artist will be releasing a song that she wrote exclusively for the upcoming flick.
However, the musician has yet to confirm if the rumors are true.
Dua Lipa Acting: Pop Star to Star in More Films in the Future?
After breaking records with her music, it seems like Dua Lipa is ready to get serious in her acting career after showing her skills in the music video of her song, "Love Again."
In a previous interview, as reported by The Sun UK, the "Future Nostalgia" hitmaker said acting is something that she would really like to do.
"It is something I'm definitely up for exploring and figuring it out, maybe with a small role first... I've done a little bit here and there, so I feel I've discovered the side of acting within music videos," she said.
In recent reports, the singer/actress was spotted filming an undisclosed project on the streets of Camden Market in London. No reports have confirmed what movie she was working on at the moment.
