Paramore dropped their self-titled album a decade ago --it was the album that gave fans "Ain't It Fun" and "Still Into You."

But did you know that the band went through a really rough patch before releasing "Paramore" in 2013?

Lead vocalist Hayley Williams reflected on the band, and past members, as well as talks of disbandment on social media.

"10 years ago, we put out a record that took a lot of guts and self-determination to make," Williams wrote. "Mainly because after losing 2 members of the band [Josh and Zac Farro] there was so much discourse around whether or not the band could make anything worthwhile - let alone stay together."

She then continued to explain that despite receiving much success in their decades-long career in music, it was not without pain and loss.

"The story of Paramore has been rife with reality show-style drama. Well, until the last 6 or 7 years. It's really great to be able to look back from where we are now, knowing the story didn't end when some said it would.

"If all that led to our Self-Titled album hadn't happened, we'd be the most boring band of all time. If we hadn't been forced out of our trauma-bonded comfort zones, we would've never known what we might be capable of."

Looking Back

Paramore was formed in 2004 by Williams and Zac Farro. They eventually brought in several other members, but currently, the band consists of three, with the addition of Taylor York.

"Paramore" marks the band's return to the music scene, scarred and scathed, but breathing and fighting, nonetheless.

"Taylor [York] and I wrote these songs having no idea if people would accept a reformed, more liberated version of Paramore. Our fans not only accepted but championed our rebirth," the vocalist wrote.

"Thank you for allowing us the room for creative risk and for keeping this story going. We love you. Paramore forever."

Shout Out

Without the "show-style drama" that went on behind the scenes, Williams noted that their fourth studio album would have not come to fruition-especially without the help of the team who produced the album with them.

Justin Medal-Johnsen produced the album; he was also the genius behind "After Laughter," the band's 2017 album.

Williams credited him for "expanding [their] musical vocabulary and believing [they] could be more than a band from one specific scene".
