Eddie Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" music video guitar is up for sale for a whopping amount.

The late guitarist penned "Hot For Teacher" alongside Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Michael Anthony for Van Halen's 1984 album. Nearly four decades after its release, the guitar Eddie used officially entered an auction.

Eddie Van Halen's Kramer Guitar Being Sold for Whopping Amount

Guitar World confirmed that Eddie's custom-made Kramer electric guitar, which was featured in van Halen's music video is up for auction at Sotheby's.

Per the news outlet, the minimum bid for the guitar is $1.8 million, with the official value estimated between $2 million to $3 million. Once sold, Eddie's guitar would officially be included in the list of the top 10 most expensive guitars ever sold at an auction.

The late guitarist used Kramer CO176 in the video. The instrument, built by Kramer luthier Paul Unkert, became one of Eddie's primary guitars in 1983 and 1984 before he switched to a similar model but made from basswood.

It also ultimately became the first guitar used by Eddie to feature screw holes on the back of the body. It is used to connect his patented support system for playing the guitar piano-style.

Sotheby's website added that the Kramer was soon gifted by Eddie to Van Halen's retired drum tech, Gregg Emerson, in 1990. He then gave it to his nephew, who sold the guitar to Neal's Music in Huntington Beach, California.

Neal's Music sold the guitar to its current owner.

The highest bidder will also receive a signed photograph from Eddie, a letter of provenance by Paul Unkert, Warner Brother tags, and the guitar's original case.

The package also comes with the straight jacket and white gloves worn by the late musician in the video.

Eddie Van Halen Receives Praise from Extreme's Gary Cherone

Years after Eddie Van Halen died following his long battle with cancer, one of his collaborators praised him recently.

In an interview with Jeremy White, the frontman recalled the time he worked with Eddie and the Van Halen camp.

"I think he was free in the sense that he could try things differently with me and I'm the new kid coming in. I was almost a new toy for him, it's like 'Let me show you this!' I'd be like 'Sure!' Who am I to say, I'm in the presence of the king here," he went on.
