Gene Simmons addressed the health issue he went through while performing with KISS in Brazil.

KISS jetted to Manaus, Brazil, to perform in front of their fans Wednesday when it halted the show for a few minutes after the band's vocalist/bassist experience a health issue. This left the crowd worried about Simmons' condition, but the musician has since assured fans he is already doing okay after the incident.

What Happened to KISS' Gene Simmons?

Simmons talked about his recent health scare on Twitter by sharing an article posted by Sports Yahoo! (originally published by Rolling Stone) regarding KISS pausing its Brazil concert.

The bassist revealed that he fell ill because of humidity and temperature which worsened his dehydration.

"Ok, kids. Not a big deal. Thanks for your kind wishes. Last night we played Amazon jungle Stadium/Brazil. Humidity and temperature were sky high," Simmons said. "I was dehydrated and was forced to sit for a song. We got back on stage in 5 minutes & finished the show."

KISS Monster Mini Golf founder Christina Vitagliano also shared a similar update on Facebook to assure everyone that the big man is doing well. She also noted that the extreme humidity, bad food, and fire-filled stage "did not mix well" especially when KISS members had to perform while wearing costumes from head to toe.

KISS Halts Brazil Show for Minutes

Brazilian news site G1 first reported about the incident. Per the report, Simmons asked for a member of the road crew to bring him a chair during the performance. Since then, he has started performing the set while sitting down.

KISS also took a short break during the concert, with Paul Stanley revealing to the crowd that they had to stop for a while to take care of his bandmate.

He also asked fans to give Simmons a loud "Gene" to give him strength before continuing their set,

Brazilian journalist Igor Miranda said KISS came back to the stage five minutes later. Simmons also greeted fans with "Manaus, all right. Thank you" in Portuguese.

Before Simmons clarified what happened to him, media outlets assumed that Simmons' health scare was caused by heat exhaustion. During KISS' set, the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) revealed that Manaus' concert was between 26.9 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius.
