Sunday evening, we were #blessed with several hints of a new Eminem project coming out on Black Friday (Nov. 28).

The phrase "Shady XV" was everywhere, and the message from Em's camp became obvious: we could expect a new album featuring the single "Guts Over Fear" the day after Thanksgiving.

But what was that album going to be? All-new material just a year after The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was released? A 15th anniversary reissue of The Slim Shady LP?

The answer: A little of both.

Billboard reports that Eminem will be releasing a two-CD compilation including:

  •  A greatest hits album
  •  An album of new material featuring Em, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D12 and Yelawolf

While this should be quite a haul, fans hoping for a true follow-up to MMLP2 will be disappointed, as we're basically getting slightly better versions of Curtain Call and The Re-Up packaged together.

Fans were also able to wake up Monday morning with a brand new Eminem single, "Guts Over Fear," which will be featured on one of the November discs.

The track holds its own against some of the best songs on last year's LP, and features a very nostalgic tone from Shady:

Sometimes I feel like all I ever do is
Find different ways to word the same old song
Ever since I came along
From the day the song called "Hi! My Name Is" dropped
Started thinking my name was fault
'Cause any time things went wrong
I was the one who they would blame it on
The media made me the equivalent of a modern-day Genghis Khan
Tried to argue it was only entertainment, dawg
Gangsta? Naw, courageous balls
Had to change my style, they said I'm way too soft
And I sound like AZ and Nas, out came the claws

Fans who hated Relapse also got a fun shout-out from Detroit's "Rap God."

So to the break of dawn here I go recycling the same old song
But I'd rather make "Not Afraid 2" than another motherf---ing "We Made You"
