It looks like despite all of the music lessons she got from his father and mother, Egypt is not interested in pursuing music like the way Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats did. The 12-year-old boy has been pegged as the next in line to continue the musical legacy of his parents, as she had performed with them several times already.

Not only was he a great musician, he even helped Kendrick Lamar, one of the greatest lyricists of this generation, overcome writer's block!

Alicia Keys' Son Egypt Doesn't Want To Pursue Music?

In an interview at "The Jennifer Hudson Show," Swizz Beatz and Egypt graced the show, and the latter talked about his growing interests.

Despite coming and performing with her mother, Alicia Keys, on tour several times, Egypt had a surprising confession.

"Well, I love music, but I don't really want to be a musician. I want to be a basketball player," he told Hudson, to which Swizz Beats vouched for his honesty.

In 2022, Egypt performed in front of a packed audience in Germany, shocking everyone with his impressive piano skills as he performed "il vento d'oro" from the "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind" soundtrack.

"It's fun because I like playing stuff, so when I hear it and I'm like, 'Oh I want to play something,' then boom, it's on the piano," he furthered.

Despite his different interests, Swizz and Keys seemed to be supportive of his decision.

"It's beautiful," he affirmed. "The one thing that we don't do is force things on them. You know, we don't force art; we don't force music. What we force is good intentions.

Swizz Beatz's Son Egypt Helped Kendrick Lamar Overcome Writer's Block

In another recollection of his kid's greatness, Beatz revealed that he even profited on one of Kendrick Lamar's tracks after he helped him overcome writer's block.

At first, Beatz thought Egypt was bothering Kendrick, but the rap superstar was very gracious.

"He said, 'No. Swizz, I had writer's block and what Egypt is telling me is helping me deal with something," the famed producer recalled of Lamar's story.

As an artist, Lamar valued Egypt's input and even got some money on the said track, "untitled 07," from "untitled unmastered."

Beatz and Keys' parenting technique doesn't seem to get away with how free they are on their children who want to pursue different tracks on them, but he reiterated that they have to guide them instead of pressuring them.
