Bonnie Raitt has recently been forced to cancel or postpone several performances due to a medical situation that requires surgery.

Her tour, "Just Like That..." had been running from April to November last year and resumed in March.

According to a statement on her Instagram page, "Bonnie has a medical situation that requires surgery to address. The doctors say that for her to heal properly, they recommend she not perform for a couple of weeks."

It said, "We deeply apologize for this delay and inconvenience. It's always upsetting to have to disappoint her fans, band, crew, and our promoters, but sometimes unforeseen things just happen."

Due to an operation and subsequent recovery period, Raitt and her band were forced to miss out on five tour dates during May.

This included their attendance at Brandi Carlile's Mothership Weekend in Miramar Beach, Florida, on May 14.

Of those four dates impacted, there is no cause for celebration: all have been rescheduled, and two already have their new dates in hand.

For instance, Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky, will hold its show on June 30, 2023, instead of May 19, as initially planned.

Similarly, Murat Theatre at Old National Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, has moved from May 20 to July 1.

Two other rescheduled performances have yet to receive a new date. These shows were initially planned for May 17 at Classic Center in Athens, Georgia, and May 23 at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Bringing the announcement to a close, Raitt and her crew expressed their immense gratitude for the abundance of support they had received while also guaranteeing she was in excellent care.

In February 2023, Bonnie Raitt was honored at the Grammy Awards.

She won Song of the Year, and it couldn't have come at a better time, as two months following this achievement, she announced postponements to her tour. This award-winning track was none other than "Just Like That," which Raitt said was inspired by her late friend and musician John Prine.

To celebrate its success, Bonnie Raitt has embarked on a tour supporting her 18th studio album, "Just Like That..." released in April 2022.

Featuring fan favorites "Made Up Mind" and "Something's Got A Hold Of My Heart," the album reigned at number one on six Billboard charts and reached position 44 on Billboard 200.
