Unlike everyone else in the music industry, JoJo is surprisingly accepting of the sudden emergence of artificial intelligence-generated music.

While the singer was out and about, TMZ asked her what she thought about AI-generated music and the use of her voice without her consent.

"I think it's really interesting," JoJo replied, and instead of scratching it off altogether, she also added that AI-generated music could be helpful for artists and producers.

"We could use it for harmonies and backgrounds," she continued. "We should learn how to work with it, not against it."

"What are we gonna do? We can't stop what's happening, in a sense, with artificial intelligence. I think we should find a way to embrace it," she added but also agreed that it could be "frustrating" at times.

AI-Generated Music

On the other side of the spectrum, music executives, labels, producers, and artists like John Legend are not too thrilled with the new developments and influx of AI-generated music.

For the past couple of weeks, a user who goes by the name of "Ghostwriter" has released several AI-generated songs that feature the voices of some of the biggest artists like Drake, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and Rihanna.

These songs instantly went viral, especially "Heart on My Sleeve" an "original" song by the anonymous user who used the voices of Drake and The Weeknd.

Despite the songs being hits and thoroughly enjoyed by fans, many are still concerned with the future of the music industry and the careers of the artists.

"I believe that our voices are our voices, and we should have control on how our voices are used out in the world," Legend said.

He gave emphasis on the use of artists' voices should be more regulated and protected with the rise of AI-generated music.

Sinister

The use of AI voice cloning is not only seen in music, according to Time magazine, it has also been used in other forms of crime.

A woman named Jennifer DeStefano reportedly received an anonymous call that demanded $1 million in exchange for the life of her daughter.

She claimed that the voice on the other end was definitely her daughter's voice, but apparently, it was not the case.

The call was AI-powered and the callers cloned the voice of DeStafano's daughter.

As of this writing, there are still no concrete plans on how the government will fight against the sudden surge of AI voice cloning or the regulation of AI-generated music.
