Did Lady Gaga and Godmack's Sully Erna date in the past?

Buzz started to emerge this year regarding Lady Gaga and Erna's dating history, saying that the Godsmack frontman briefly dated the singer-actress.

Godsmack Sully Erna Confirms Dating Rumors

Erna set the record straight in his recent interview with Revolver after he was asked about his past relationship with the "Bad Romance" hitmaker. While the frontman reportedly does not have a lot to say about it, he disclosed that he has an immense amount of respect for Lady Gaga.

He added that he was introduced to her through a mutual friend. From there, they reportedly developed feelings and started dating but only for "a hot minute."

"There may be a lot of people in the world that think she's kooky and crazy because she's so wild with fashion and things like that, but she knows exactly what she's doing," he said of Lady Gaga. "She's an extremely smart businesswoman. And she's kind and super talented."

The 55-year-old vocalist also expressed how proud he is that he was able to have great moments with Lady Gaga, who he called an incredibly great person. He disclosed that he was able to meet Elton John through her.

Godsmack Drummer Revealed The Duo's Dating History

The dating rumors started when Erna's bandmate, Shannon Larkin, appeared on the "2020'd" podcast, during which he revealed the frontman and Lady Gaga's relationship.

At that time, the drummer said it was "true," adding how he did not think it was a secret. He disclosed that the "A Star Is Born" actress made Erna finally smoke.

As for the reason why Erna did not publicly share the story about his romantic connection with Lady Gaga, Larkin said that the vocalist is not Tommy Lee or other musicians who got famous partners.

Instead, he described his bandmate as an East Coast guy who is not a fan of flashy moments.

Erna, however, once hinted at their relationship when he revealed in July 2019 that Godmack's song "Under Your Scars" was inspired by Lady Gaga. He revealed that they "hung out for a short amount of time," but it reportedly helped him instantly to accept his imperfections and appreciate everything that made him who he is now.

Before the recent revelation, Lady Gaga had a high-profile relationship with Michael Polansky.
