Many fans were looking forward to seeing Morgan Wallen perform live at the Gulf Coast Jam music festival as he was initially announced as one of the headliners. However, due to his health condition, he had to cancel his appearance; who would be his replacement?

According to Classic Country 107.0, the musician is going to be replaced by his fellow country singer, Kenny Chesney.

Gulf Coast Jam announced the big news on social media, writing, "SHOES JUST BECAME OPTIONAL!!!
We proudly welcome Kenny Chesney and #noshoesnation to Gulf Coast Jam presented by Jim Beam!!!!"

The event's executive producer, Rendy Lovelady, also confirmed the news in a video, saying they have been trying to get the singer perform for more than a decade now and they're excited that he's finally going to play his hit songs.

He also asked fans to pray for Morgan Wallen's condition and not be mad at him because "these things happen."

Gulf Coast Jam 2023

Some of the biggest names in country music will be gathering in one event for this year's Gulf Coast Jam, which will take place in Panama City Beach, Florida, this June 1 to June 4, 2023.

Headliners include Miranda Lambert, Hardy, Kane Brown, and Kenny Chesney. Aside from the four, there will also be other performers, which are listed down below:

What Happened to Morgan Wallen?

The recent announcement comes after Morgan Wallen announced on his Instagram account that doctors advise him to take a break from his tour for six weeks.

"I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. After taking 10 days of vocal rest I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible," he said. (via Billboard.

Since he needs to recover, there are several shows that are already canceled including his appearances at the Carolina County Music Fest and scheduled dates for his current tour.

As of this writing, there are no announcement regarding the rescheduled dates for his canceled appearances.
