Freddie Mercury publicly spoke about his love for Mary Austin, although they moved on with their respective lovers until the singer's death. However, the Queen frontman also found himself loving another woman after her.

Mercury's lovers received the same amount of spotlight as him, especially Mary Austin, since he talked about them in his interviews. Despite his sexuality, he left most of his worth and belongings to his beloved ex-girlfriend, saying it would still be that way if she became his wife.

However, revelations shocked Queen's fans as it was disclosed that Mercury loved another woman after Mary Austin.

Freddie Mercury Loved Another Woman Aside From Mary Austin

In the years leading to his death, Mary Austin looked after Mercury with the help of the singer's partner, Jim Hutton, and their live-in friends Joe Fanneli and Peter Freestone. Their closeness was recorded in the photographs that were shared after his death.

However, one blonde woman who stayed by the "Bohemian Rhapsody" hitmaker's side at his final parties also garnered attention.

Express shared copies of the snaps, showing the woman named Barbara Valentin accompanying him. The same woman was also part of Queen's "It's A Hard Life" music video wherein Mercury looks up at her as he sings, "Two lovers together, to love and live forever in each other's hearts."

According to Valentin's daughter Minki Reichardt, Mercury was her mom's "love of her life." She revealed that the duo's relationship was close and intense but truly liked their conflict.

Their love story continued as the late singer enjoyed his newfound freedom from the British press. He moved to Germany with Barbara and stayed there from 1983 to 1985.

"They had the most intense, loving relationship. I know one hundred percent they shared a bed on numerous occasions," Mercury's personal assistant and close friend Peter Freestone said.

Freddie Mercury Would Have Married Barbara Valentin Instead of Mary Austin

Although Mercury's homosexuality was an issue, Valentin's friend Elisabeth Volkmann said Mercury would have married her if he had the chance. The blonde woman, however, did not find his sexuality an issue.

Valentin died of stroke years after Mercury's passing.

The singer met another woman, local Austrian restauranteur Winnie Kirchberger, in his final years in Germany. They reportedly had a two-year relationship, as well.
