Jimmy Buffett will not be performing at his scheduled weekend concert due to health issues.

Buffett started performing on stage again this year as part of his 2023 tour. As of press time, he played 12 concerts, including his May 6 show in San Diego.

However, fans also noted that the singer canceled most of his supposed concerts, and the most recent postponement happened recently.

Jimmy Buffett Cancels Weekend Show

On Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers' official Facebook page, the musician confirmed that the May 20 concert at Credit One Stadium in Charleston would be rescheduled. It also informed fans that the purchased tickets would still be honored on the yet-to-be-announced new date.

"I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California 'winter tour' and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston," he said. "I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention."

The "Margaritaville" crooner quipped that "growing old is not for sissies," but he did not mention what exactly his health issue was.

He ended his note with an assurance to fans that he would be back onstage once his health allows it. He also thanked fans for supporting him and including him in their thoughts and prayers.

As of press time, his official website's events tab shows no scheduled concerts, but it shows the text "stay tuned for show announcements" confirming that Buffett will be back soon.

Jimmy Buffett's Health Issues

The 76-year-old musician previously canceled his shows before his recent changes in lineup.

In September, Buffett postponed his remaining 2022 tour dates including his stops in Las Vegas, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Nampa. His Instagram page revealed that his doctor asked him to take rest and refrain from touring for the rest of the year to allow his body to recuperate and heal.

Despite missing the shows, Buffett became part of the Zac Brown Band's new version of "Same Boat." The track became part of the band's deluxe version of "The Comeback," which was released in the same month.

In the past years, Buffett has not opened up about the exact health issues he has been suffering from. While waiting for an update, fans chose to send him well wishes instead and pray for his fast recovery.
