Mel B claims that the LGBTQI community is essential to the existence of the Spice Girls.

The queer and drag communities owe the 90s girl group, which also included Geri Horner, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, and Victoria Beckham, for welcoming them from the beginning.

Mel said that she thinks it's been everything and they've been there for the group from the very, very start, in an interview with Metro.co.uk.

She added that she does not think it would have actually happened without them. She shared also that she definitely thinks the group has been influenced.

She gushed that it doesn't get any better than being accepted by the homosexual community and the drag community, which is what has happened to Spice Girls since they began their profession.

Mel is a judge on Queen of the Universe, a drag singing competition, which also features Michelle Visage, Trixie Mattel, and Vanessa Williams. Mel B's remarks follow Melanie C's, aka Sporty Spice, earlier admission that the group made a deliberate choice to focus their messaging more on "inclusivity."

The "Wannabe" hitmaker stated to Attitude magazine last year: "All the Spice Girls have always been aware of the support from the LGBTQI community and has never taken it for granted. At the time, it was clear that we had a lot of young homosexual male fans, some of whom still weren't out or didn't completely understand who they were. She added that she wanted to shift their focus from shouting about Girl Power to inclusion very soon after the realization.

For the second season of the drag talent competition Queen Of The Universe, in which the singer is participating as a judge, British news outlet Sky News conducted an interview with Mel B on May 30.

In addition to discussing her experiences serving as a panelist on the program, Mel B, dubbed "Scary Spice," also shared some news that would surely delight any fan of the Spice Girls. The Wannabe singer claims that the Spice Girls' entire original lineup will soon reunite for a special project.

"We are going to be doing some stuff, all five of us pretty soon, which is going to be announced," Mel B said.
