Since the season finale of "America Idol" on May 21, speculation has been circulating about Katy Perry's future as a judge.

A public relations expert has gone on record to state that consequences have arisen for the "I Kissed A Girl" singer due to her decisions while working on the show.

Speaking to The Sun, Chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, the Los Angeles-based firm's lead executive - Eric Schiffer - shared his views on Katy Perry and her upcoming return to "American Idol" and its impact on the show's fanbase.

He says, "Katy is going through a tough phase due to the decisions she made that have caused immense distress."

Throughout the show's most recent season, many fans weren't pleased with what they perceived as feedback and critiques from a certain pop star-turned-judge.

They vented their discontent during live shows with boos and online until its conclusion.

Eric believes, however, that power is still in Katy's hands as both an artist and musician.

"Artists tend to be quite insightful," he noted. "It is this same insightfulness that allows them to captivate millions with their music."

In addition, Eric recognizes that despite Katy's choices, her business decisions won't let her abandon "American Idol" because it still serves as an excellent platform for her success.

Though it can be challenging, she'll no doubt find a way to manage her emotions, the expert explained.

He went on to say that an artist who is passionate about their work and expresses it with unbridled emotion has an incredible superpower. This revealed a profound connection to universal feelings many reportedly all recognize and respond to.

When asked about the possibility of Katy Perry leaving "American Idol," the guru asserted that he doesn't believe that is in the cards.

"I don't see her severing ties with a show which has benefitted her for so many years," mentioned Eric.

Nevertheless, it doesn't necessarily mean there won't be any rough patches along the way should she remain on the show, he added.

Eric gave an ominous warning: "Katy Perry's fans could amplify their dislike of her should she fail to take appropriate corrective action."

He continued by saying that such negative behavior on her part would bring about a "blinding lightning bolt of hate."

The audience could allegedly perceive Katy Perry's negative influence on the show during this season through her choices in front of the camera. It cannot be easy to remain optimistic when one puts their feelings so openly, yet it is a strength as it allows them to tap into universal emotions that everyone reacts to.

Regarding the effect of "American Idol" on the judges' careers, Eric suggested that it is contingent upon what stage they are at in their careers.

"For those who have been out of public attention or have not had as much luck with their body of work, being part of a show like this can be very beneficial as it brings them into a completely different audience and helps reignite interest in their work," he said.

"Katy Perry is a perfect example of how young people keep certain celebrities relevant and visible. This engine of relevance with the younger generations is an invaluable tool for any celebrity."
