Volbeat released a statement confirming the departure of its longtime guitarist, Rob Caggiano, from the band ahead of its 2023 tour.

The band has been gearing up since announcing its 2023 tour, including the summer tour in North America alongside Halestorm. Volbeat's current schedule shows that its trek will begin at Rockfest on June 10 and end at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee on Aug. 9.

Ahead of the tour, Volbeat delivered the saddening news of Caggiano's departure from the band.

Rob Caggiano Leaves Volbeat

Volbeat confirmed the development in a Facebook post on its official page, confirming the end of its career with its longtime guitarist.

It expressed its gratitude after it was able to share great music and experiences with Caggiano over the past 10 years, including the four albums with the guitarist. After the exit, the band sent its well wishes to the former member as it assured him to support in everything he will do in the future.

The same statement confirmed that The Arcane Order's Flemming C. Lund, who has been friends with the band, would be its touring guitarist.

"Filling those shoes on stage will be a herculean task, but our good friend Flemming C. Lund (The Arcane Order) will be jumping in to handle lead guitar on our 2023 shows," the statement went on. "Thank you to all of our incredible fans for their support, and more importantly, thank you to Rob for ten amazing years."

Caggiano had been a part of Volbeat when he joined the band following his exit from Anthrax in 2013. He initially cited that he parted ways with his previous band to focus on his studio production work but surprisingly joined Volbeat one month later.
