Producer Michael Bibi, who had major sets at the world's biggest festivals, including Coachella, is taking a break from the music industry.

Bibi's management agency, Prime Culture, announced Monday on Instagram the producer's decision to be out of the spotlight for a while following his "serious" medical diagnosis.

Michael Bibi's Health Issue

According to the statement, Bibi was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called CNS Lymphoma. Prime Culture revealed that the label head of Solid Grooves decided to postpone his schedule and sit out in several shows to focus on his cancer treatment.

"Michael is currently undergoing cancer treatment in hospital, supported by his close friends and family," the management company said. "While he is in treatment, he will be unavailable for any shows for the foreseeable future as he takes time away to recover."

Prime Culture concluded the statement by sharing how much joy Bibi has brought so far to its team and his fans across the globe. It also took its time to send love and support to the producer as he starts his battle against cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute's official website, primary central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma occurs when a person suffers from a weakened immune system that leads to the formation of malignant cells in the brain and spinal cord's lymph tissue. Among its symptoms are seizures, vomiting, and nausea.

Cleveland Clinic notes how rare Bibi's health diagnosis is, as it is accountable for the 1,500 cases in the US every year.

Bibi's decision ultimately affected his Solid Grooves residency at DC10 in Ibiza, causing him to miss the next shows. He was supposed to appear at the residency's next stop on Thursday and the Parklife and EXIT Festivals.

Michael Bibi Confirms Bad News

Following Prime Culture's statement, Bibi also took to Twitter to share his diagnosis on his Instagram page.

The British DJ told his followers that the disease is "moving fast," so he needs to stay in a medical facility to start his treatment immediately. While he admitted to feeling tired, he assured everyone that he remains strong as he fights the dreaded disease.

He also told his fans he would return stronger soon.

The revelation came nearly a month after he revealed in an Instagram video on May 17 that he had been on hiatus online due to the tests he underwent to determine the cause of his tinnitus - a ringing or other noises in one or both ears.
