What is Happening in New York City?

People from the eastern part of the United States were shocked as the sky appeared to be color orange and haze can be seen anywhere.

The reason why New York City is going through this crisis is because of the devastating 400 wildfires happening in Canada earlier this week.

According to CNBC, the air in the Big Apple was considered to be the worst air quality on earth and experts like Colin McCarthy, an atmospheric science student, said being exposed to the air in the city for 24 hours equates to smoking six cigarettes.

Fortunately, Dr. Adrian Pristas, a pulmonologist, said the air quality will not go on for months as it is not a pandemic.

"This is going to go on for days, maybe a week. I wish I knew that for sure, but it all depends on what happens in Canada so people should pay attention to that," he added.
