Ja Morant gave Lil Wayne the cold shoulder when the rapper attempted to assist him in the wake of his recent gun controversy, according to Skip Bayless, who claims to have received this information directly from the Young Money head.

This week, the FS1 presenter discussed Wayne's apparent side of the story on the "Skip Bayless Show" podcast, explaining that the "Kant Nobody" rapper's personal experiences influenced his decision to reach out to the All-Star guard.

Lil Wayne, according to Skip, reminisced about his own time on Rikers Island for gun possession and expressed concern that Ja would wind up in the same cell.

Skip asserts that the message was conveyed, but asserts that Ja and his team never responded to Wayne.

Wayne is not the only rapper concerned with Ja's safety. Cam'ron, who claims he abandoned his own basketball aspirations to pursue a career in the streets, has also been publicly advising Ja to reverse course, particularly since the Dipset rapper does not believe a hip-hop career is in Ja's future.

Since Shannon Sharpe declared his departure from "Undisputed" on Tuesday, Skip will need to devise a strategy to discuss more of Ja's plight; he is currently without a debate partner.

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne claims he can't recall his songs, despite having a number of projects in the works and awaiting the vinyl release of his iconic "Tha Carter III" album.

The 40-year-old rapper, whose actual name is Dwayne Carter, told Rolling Stone in an interview that he "don't know 'Tha Carter III,' 'Tha Carter II,' or 'Tha Carter One' from 'Tha Carter IV.'"

He said that this is the honest truth from God - anyone can ask him about a particular song but he could not even know what is being asked.

The singer of "Lollipop" has previously discussed his epilepsy and coping with recurrent and unprovoked seizures. Lil Wayne added that the records that contributed to his rise to prominence in the early 2000s have "absolutely no significance" to him due to memory loss.

In particular, he informed the publication that he could not recall that one of his most popular albums, "Tha Carter III," was released in 2008.

He said he does not even know if 'Tha Carter III' was released at that time. This is the extent of his ignorance," he said, adding that he continues to labor every day.

He said he views this as the curse component of the blessing and the curse. He believes that God gave him an incredible intellect, but not an incredible memory to remember this incredible thing.

However, Lil Wayne also stated that despite forgetting some of his most popular songs, he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
