"Rachel Berry must be fuming with envy," some "Glee" fans collectively agree as Lea Michele posted a celebratory selfie with former "Glee" co-star Alex Newell as they finally scored that long-awaited Tony awards.

Newell won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for "Shucked," making them the first publicly out non-binary actor to win an award.

Alex Newell, Lea Michele Feud

At the time of the George Floyd murder in 2020, Lea Michele voiced out her frustrations on the rather aggravating encounter. However, Samantha Marie Ware, one of the newbies at "Glee" at the time, revealed how Michele made her life on set a "living hell" for her alleged primadonna behavior and racially discriminatory antics.

Alex Newell was one of the first few "Glee" co-stars who have evidently expressed support toward Ware, with them famously commenting on the "Get her, Jade" GIF from RuPaul's Drag Race. Amber Riley also subtly echoed Ware and Newell's statement.

Since then, Michele's hate train started, resulting in her losing some brand deals and other work projects at the time. It was only through "Funny Girl" that she bounced back from all the hatred.

However, the recent casting change may have propelled Michele's career forward, but the internet never really forgets and still roots for anyone in "Glee" except Lea Michele.

Alex Newell Snubbed Lea Michele at the Tony Awards?

It was an incredible moment for Gleeks to finally see Newell getting their well-deserved flowers after all these years. From being snubbed in "Once On This Island," Newell's sensational performance in "Shucked" finally earned them one.

As their name was announced, Newell walked past a teary-eyed clapping Michele, which many netizens see as a "winning moment" for the non-binary actor to walk past their alleged former aggressor as they take home the award Michele had long waited to earn.

Many celebrated Newell's win and Michele not winning. Many speculated that they still have bad blood between them, but everyone's belief was crushed when Newell posted a photo.

Lea Michele, Alex Newell Feud Over?

Backstage at the 2023 Tony Awards, Lea Michele and Alex Newell snapped a quick selfie together after the latter won the award. Michele posted it on Instagram. The comments were filled with unsure questions, asking how the selfie materialized, even questioning Newell's state at the time.

However, it wasn't all one-sided because Newell shared the post on their own account with the caption: "I'm so happy we could share this season together! And thank you for celebrating me! Look how far we've come."

Newell now joins a roster of main "Glee" actors who have won awards from the Big 4. Jenna Ushkowitz has two Tonys, Ali Stroker has one Tony, Jane Lynch has two Emmys, and Jonathan Groff has a Grammy for "Hamilton." Michele has yet to win either of the four.
