Back in 2017, a video of Jerry Seinfeld rejecting Kesha, who asked for a hug went viral-apparently, the singer still has not recovered from the embarrassment and sadness from that moment.

The awkward and sad exchange between the celebrities was caught on camera because Seinfeld was being interviewed at the red carpet of a National Night of Laughter and Song in Washington, DC.

"Then, I get to the f**king charity event, and I got really excited because he brings me peace and love and all things good in the universe, and then he didn't hug me in front of cameras," Kesha recalled during her appearance at "The Best Show" podcast.

The "Tik Tok" singer elaborated on how much she has idolized the comedian slash actor, in fact, she revealed that "Seinfeld" is her comfort show during bumpy plane rides.

"I'd pop in Seinfeld and I'd be like, 'Everything's OK in the world' and watch my buddy," she continued.

Despite the interaction being funny for most people, Kesha admitted that it hurt her feelings a bit, "It was the most depressing and hilarious, but also so sad - it was, like, the saddest moment of my life."

Jerry Seinfeld's Life Rule

According to reports, the hug rejection was nothing personal on the comedian's part.

"I'm 63, I don't know every pop star," Seinfeld defended himself after the incident. "I don't know everyone."

"I don't hug a total stranger," he then added. "I have to meet someone ... I have to start somewhere. A hug is not the first moment of ... two humans."

Seinfeld also commented on Kesha's approach which was "a little off" since he was in the middle of an interview.

Despite the awkward encounter and the comments Seinfeld made about it, Kesha does not seem like she took the rejection to heart.

Although it should be noted that the comedian and singer are yet to share a hug.
