Michael Jackson tragically died 14 years ago due to cardiac arrest because of an overdose; the world mourned one of the music industry's most significant losses.

While he is one of the most beloved artists of all time, Jackson is also a controversial figure involved in many scandals.

The "Thriller" singer rose to prominence at a young age when he was brought in to perform alongside his brothers in their band the Jackson 5. He has spent almost all his life onstage, performing.

Aside from working with the band, Jackson also pursued a solo career. He released his debut studio album "Got to be There" in 1972 alongside his hit sophomore album "Ben."

Jackson has been a household name in the music industry before he even got to release the album which cemented his legacy forever, "Off The Wall."

It was his first album after leaving Motown Records. It was produced by Quincy Jones, and circled around several lyrical themes and music genres.

It produced the singles "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough," "Rock With You," "Off the Wall," "She's Out of My Life" and "Girlfriend."

It was the album that set the tone for Jackson's career and boosted it to unimaginable heights.

Michael Jackson's Controversies

Despite being a well-respected and successful artist who probably single-handedly redefined pop music, Jackson was involved in several controversies.

As per the "Leaving Neverland" documentary, two men came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against the late singer.

Other people have also accused Jackson of molesting them when they were children, but the singer's estate continues to deny all allegations.

According to reports, Katherine Jackson, his mother, showed checks the singer allegedly wrote out to the families of the children who cried sexual abuse to La Toya Jackson.

In an interview, she said, "This is very difficult for me. Michael is my brother. ... But I cannot, and I will not, be a silent collaborator of his crimes against small, innocent children."

Jackson was indicted of 10 criminal counts in relation to child molestation, false imprisonment, extortion, as well as abduction in 2003, but was eventually acquitted of all charges.
