John Legend and Chrissy Teigen just welcomed their baby girl earlier this year and they shocked their social media followers just recently upon announcing that another kid is joining their family; how is this possible?

Taking to her official Instagram account, the now-mom of four shared a lengthy statement regarding their family's situation at the moment.

She began the post by telling her supporters that she had always wanted to have four children since she was a kid.

The cookbook author then recalled the time when she and her musician husband lost their baby Jack and at the time, she lost all hope and didn't think she would be able to carry a baby again.

However, there was a ray of hope because she was surrounded by people who "wanted to make sure I wouldn't go through that pain and loss again."

Teigen then revealed that she and Legend reached out to a surrogacy agent in 2021 in hopes of having two surrogates for them to have either a baby boy or girl or even twins. (via Entertainment Tonight)

During the early process of surrogacy, the model said she had just come out of a therapy session and told her husband that she wanted to try for a baby one more time and if ever it doesn't work out for her, she would be okay about it.

It appears that the couple was determined on having a new child as they immediately restarted the IVF process, which was the same process that gave them their babies Luna and Miles.

Following the transfer, the process worked out for them because, at the time, they were happy to find out that they were expecting their baby girl, Esti.

Around the same time, they also met a surrogate named Alexandra who they described as "the most incredible, loving, and compassionate" person.

Further sharing the process of IVF, it was hard for the couple and the surrogate because the first embryo they tried didn't work out, but it eventually happened.

Then in June 2023, Alexandra finally gave birth to Legend and Teigen's baby boy.

"Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love."
