Madonna is said to be recuperating following her recent, worrying hospitalization, but her close friends now fear she might suffer like Michael Jackson did.

The pop diva ended up postponing her upcoming Celebration Tour as her longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed she was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in her New York residence. He has since assured everyone she is already on the mend, but Madonna's close friends are still worried about her.

Madonna Might Suffer Like Michael Jackson, Says Source

An unnamed insider recently told The Sun (via RadarOnline) that Madonna's desire to compete with younger singers led her to push herself to the physical limit - something the late King of Pop faced in the past.

According to the source, who is reportedly close to the singer, the singer had been enduring grueling rehearsals and an intense schedule just to prepare for her now-postponed celebration tour. It added that the crooner worked overtime and poured in all her energy to give her fans the best.

Madonna's condition has also been compared with what happened to the "Smooth Criminal" hitmaker before his "This Is It" tour in 2009.

"People were really worried about her," the insider said. "Nobody would say it out loud but there were concerns about another Michael Jackson situation if she doesn't slow down a bit."

The pal added that everyone saw Madonna's hospitalization coming, but only a few people expressed their concern.

Amid all worries, the informant disclosed that the "Back That Up To The Beat" singer's health issue is curable and that she has already started working with her doctors to boost her immune system again.

What Happened to Michael Jackson?

The comparison between the health struggles of Madonna and Michael Jackson started as fans believed both of them overexerted themselves before their scheduled tours.

As reported by ABC News, Jackson died before his highly-anticipated 50 sold-out-show in his This Is It tour. People around the late singer thought he was healthy enough to proceed with the concerts, with Dr. David Slavik giving him a go signal after undergoing a five-hour medical examination.

On the other hand, choreographer Kenny Ortega - who worked with him - revealed in an exposé that Jackson's health deteriorated six days before his passing.
