Madonna always strives to give her fans the perfect show, but did her high-achieving perfectionist tendencies cause her health to break down?

"She ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away," a source told People magazine. "But she didn't want to take time away from rehearsals."

Given that the Queen of Pop is now 64 years old, those around her have told her to take it easier and slow down; however, she refused.

"She was rundown and not feeling 100 percent for a while in anticipation of her tour. She is relentless in her quest to be the best, to wow her fans and to do what others before her have not done."

Madonna has been in the industry for three decades already. She has released music since the '80's up until 2019, and it is her tenacity that has kept her in fans' mouths and spectators' eyes.

"Madonna has been very busy for a long time and not taking care of herself. She just continues to push herself beyond the limit," another source revealed.

Madonna's Health

Despite the good news that Madonna's health is picking back up, according to previous reports, doctors were worried that she might not survive the bacterial infection she had contracted.

Pictures taken days before her hospitalization showed that the "Like a Virgin' singer's skin looked clammy and her face gaunt.

A doctor interviewed by the Daily Mail UK described what he saw in the pictures: "She looks exhausted. Intense rehearsing and the stress associated with large-scale performances are undoubtedly risks for immunosuppression and unwanted health issues."

Another doctor noted Madonna's thin physique, adding that "She doesn't look much like the Madonna I am used to seeing."

Madonna Compromised Health Affects Tour

According to reports, because of Madonna's health, her team has decided to "cut back" on her highly anticipated "Celebration Tour."

Although the entire thing is described as a "logistical nightmare," little can be done since the singer's health has been compromised, she has no choice to but take it easy.

A source even said, "This schedule would be grueling for even the youngest and fittest of artists. More than 70 gigs across the world is extreme. Madonna and her team are going to have to consider cutting back on the schedule."

As of this writing, there are no official announcements on the postponement or cancelation of Madonna's "Celebration Tour."
