Ice Spice came from rapping at the curbs of the Bronx to performing at three sold-out Taylor Swift MetLife Stadium shows in New Jersey in the span of less than a year. Her acquired mainstream success, thanks to TikTok and her successful collaborations with PinkPantheress, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift, has amassed success literally overnight.

Apart from the acclaim that her first EP, "Like..?" had, Ice Spice is as charismatic and confident as committed as she is; which is why no wonder that Taylor Swift (and even Nicki Minaj) saw huge potential in her.

Ice Spice, Taylor Swift Friendship

In an interview with Spotify on the eve of her release of "Karma," Taylor Swift revealed to the public that she listens to "Like..?" while she was on her "The Eras" Tour. Thankfully, Ice Spice reached out to her team when they heard about it, and right off the bat, Taylor, and Ice Spice clicked, and they have since been inseparable.

Their partnership birthed the release of "Karma (Remix)," the third lead single of "Midnights," which prominently features Ice Spice. The public was not ready for the sudden collaboration which was announced not more than a week since the song is about to drop.

It also came at a time when Taylor Swift and Matty Healy were reportedly dating. Notably, Healy and Ice Spice had a history. Specifically, Healy was one to throw laughs when Ice Spice was being ridiculed in a podcast episode she was a guest on.

Many Ice Spice fans took to her defense and were wary about Swift's collaboration with Ice Spice was only a PR stunt to cover her then-boyfriend's actions and behavior. Healy and Swift have since broken up and an interview with The Guardian with Ice Spice proves that Swift's friendship with her is as authentic as it can be.

"She be telling me to learn from her mistakes - just watching her in general, if you pay close enough attention, you gonna see what you should do," Ice admitted. "I love to talk to her about things that I can't talk about publicly - it just means so much to be able to have somebody like her."

Elsewhere, she also confirmed that Swift has been giving her advice that she needs as she threads into superstardom.

Ice Spice and Taylor Swift's "Karma (Remix)" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making it Ice Spice's highest-charting song yet.
