Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling Vying For Best Supporting Oscar?

According to a Variety projection, Ryan Gosling could very well be gunning for an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken in "Barbie."

Critics have praised Gosling for offering depth to the rather flat and plastic Ken Doll in the "Barbie" movie. Meanwhile, Margot Robbie, who is yet to win an Oscar is very much in the running for a Best Actress nomination.

Meanwhile, any of the soundtrack's bolstering hits can very well be considered for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

'Barbie' Soundtrack Receives Poor Reviews

Despite huge fan acclaim, the "Barbie" Movie Soundtrack seemed to fare poorly on the side of the critics.

Pitchfork gave the album a 5.4 score out of 10, noting that "these throwaway products should largely be left on the shelf."

The Guardian echoed this sentiment, noting that half of the artists on the soundtrack were from Atlantic Records' own roster of talents, with tracks seemingly added just to boost the sales of the actual products that Mattel has. In the end, the publication remarked the album was "a cynical exercise in corporate synergy."

NME Magazine gave a three out of five stars rating on the album. They praised the intimacy and vulnerability that Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For" on the album. The song, albeit "more whispery" than Eilish's usual, was deemed as if it is "Barbie's deepest, darkest secret."
