Nick Cave confirmed the status of Bad Seeds' upcoming album amid his ongoing tour commitments.

Cave first hinted at the Bad Seeds' new material earlier this year, saying that he started working on the album, which would serve as a follow-up to the group's 2019, "Ghosteen." According to the musician, the upcoming material would be instantly "interesting but different."

Previously, Cave called the new record both good news and bad news since the public does not want the record and he needed to write the "bloody thing," respectively.

The musician reportedly started the process at 9 a.m. on New Year's Day, and he already wrote a few lines a few days later.

Although he is yet to share further details about the Bad Seeds album, Cave said in the past that he did not think he could make an old-school record anymore. Thus, he predicted that the new album would not be like a basic rock n' roll style.

Cave formed Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in 1983, and its decades-long of career allowed them to release notable albums and songs over the past years.

He appeared in a recent episode of "Jiggle Jiggle" guy Louis Theroux's new Spotify podcast during which he attracted new listeners to his music. After his appearance, he penned an entry to his newsletter and shared how he established a relationship with his songs.

As for the good song he made, Cave said "Brompton Oratory" is way better than "The Mercy Seat," which took him months to write and finish.

On the other hand, he named "Ghosteen" as the band's best album and "Sad Waters" from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "Your Funeral, My Trial," as his favorite song. The latter reportedly made him cry when he played it for the first time to his then-girlfriend, Elizabeth.

In addition, Cave also grew fond of "From Her To Eternity," which is reportedly the group's best early song.
