Sinead O'Connor's death has puzzled her fans because of the scarcity of information available to the public. While many thought that she died of suicide, it is still not yet confirmed.

The Irish singer has been battling various mental health conditions in the past, after being mistakenly diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and eventually complex post-traumatic stress disorder.

As of this writing, Sinead O'Connor's cause of death has not yet been specified but London police seemed to rule out any foul play involved.

London police confirmed to People Magazine that Sinead O'Connor's cause of death is "not being treated as suspicious."

According to the publication, a Scotland Yard spokesperson confirmed to them that a "56-year-old woman was pronounced dead" in London last Wednesday night. That woman turned out to be the Grammy-winning singer Sinead O'Connor.

"Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area," London Police reported.

At the time of the discovery of Sinead O'Connor's death, her next of kin have already been notified. A coroner is set to inspect the body for final confirmation of Sinead O'Connor's cause of death.

It is expected that more details about Sinead O'Connor's cause of death will be revealed in the coming weeks or months after the coroner finishes its autopsy, barring no complications, and if the family decides to go public with the information.

O'Connor is survived by her three remaining living children - Jake, Roison, and Yeshua. Her third child, Shane, passed away in 2022 by suicide.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," the family said in a statement. "Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

The Irish Times initially reported the news before it was picked up by various publications and media outlets.
