Troye Sivan knows a lot of things, but it seems like Cher's filmography isn't one of them.

Fans have since been divided on whether they have to give it to Sivan or not, but some say it's basic pop culture knowledge to know her classic films.

Troye Sivan Sits On Lie Detector Test

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Troye Sivan, who recently released his song "Rush," sat down and did a 14-minute lie detector test for the publication.

Among the questions asked about him were about his personal life, pop culture, and career.

At one point, he even chose between "respecting" Selena Gomez's weird food combination of popcorn and pickle juice over Saweetie's ramen and hot Cheetos. He also confessed to having been catfished by Russian hackers pretending to be Climate Change activist, Greta Thunberg.

Sivan also admitted that he considers Ariana Grande and Lily Rose-Depp as the most favorite collaborations he had in the past.

As for his music, Sivan also revealed that he has not pulled a "publicity stunt" when it comes to promoting his music. As for paying fake followers and streaming bots, he admitted that he hadn't paid for it.

Troye Sivan Doesn't Know Cher's Films

At one point in the Lie Detector Test, Sivan was asked if he was better than other musicians who can also act.

When asked if he was better than Academy Award winner musician Lady Gaga, Sivan said that he was not; but when asked about Cher, Sivan was quite skeptical.

"I have never actually seen.. Uhh, was she in "Mamma Mia"?" he asked. "I don't think I have ever seen a movie with Cher in it. Yeah. I've seen.. like 2 movies, just in general."

Fans online were divided over this revelation, especially since Cher was a multimedia star. She was even widely hailed as the Goddess of Pop.

For Vulture, it was a "gay crime," not knowing any classic Cher films.

"Well she was actually in Mamma Mia 2," a fan defended.

"The question was about acting. He's not saying he doesn't know her music. He just wasn't familiar with her acting career," someone said.

"Gay card revoked," another quipped.

As for those who actually do not know, Cher starred in "Moonstruck," "Mermaids," "Faithful," and "Burlesque," among many others.
