Just last week, Music Times told you about comedian Jay Pharoah's spot-on impression of Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards. Well, it looks like the Yeezus rapper got a glance of the Saturday Night Live star's joke and had some things to say on the matter.

Taking to the mic during this past weekend's Made in America festival for another one of his many rants, West claimed that he was tired of people taking liberties with his work, saying that what he does is "not a joke."

Having said that, in the interest of giving him credit, West did seem to (slightly) appreciate the impersonation, calling it "fine and funny." He then noted that media outlets, even the tabloids that have made his life hell over the years, are doing their jobs. Which, surprisingly, he seems to be at peace with.

But above everything, the College Dropout singer asks fans not to "distract from our mission," despite seeing bits such as the VMAs performance and South Park's portrayal of him a couple of years ago.

"It's not a joke what we do up here. This music that we do is not a joke."

The artist continued his speech, touching on he and wife Kim Kardashian's interracial relationship, his time spent fusing hip-hop with gangsta rap and his hopes for "creating more" with the aim of helping other people.

He ended his surprisingly touching segment by saying, "I want people to realize that what we do, we put our love, our heart, our pain, our story, ours lives into it."
