It's been five years since Cardi B released her most recent and debut studio album titled "Privacy." Although she was able to appear on countless of collaborations with other artists since then, fans have been wanting solo music from the rapper.

More recently, the mom of two spoke in an interview and teased her supporters about what's to come in her career; is she finally releasing a new song or a potential album on her own?

The musician had a conversation with Vogue Mexico where she appeared in a cover issue. In the interview, she opened up about releasing solo music and it appears that it would come sooner than what fans think.

"I'm not going to release any more collaborations, I'm going to release my next solo single," she confirmed. (via Bossip)

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, then noted that she and her team are currently working on the cover art and ideas for her next album because "it's definitely coming up."

"Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now," she added.

As of this writing, Cardi B has yet to reveal more details about her next musical project, she also didn't tell the outlet the potential release date of her album.

Her latest collaborative track was with her husband, Offset, for the song "Jealous."

Cardi B New Movie Coming Soon?

Aside from a new album, it appears that Cardi B is venturing out into other career paths as she revealed that she has plans in "the world of cinema."

If she ever stars in a film again, it won't be her first time as she previously took the role of Leysa in the 2021 movie "Fast and Furious 9."

In addition, Cardi B said she also has plans in fashion, branding, and more.

Cardi B Music Influences

Elsewhere in the interview, the "Jealous" hitmaker opened up about her music influences, especially because she has Latin American roots.

She revealed that growing up in a Caribbean household was one of the main inspirations why her love for music was honed.

Mexican music also played a big role in her musical upbringing because it has been an important part of her life. She then named some of her favorite Mexican artists which included Ana Gabriel, Luis Miguel, and Rocío Durcal.
