Katy Perry Dragged Into Ex Russell Brand's Scandal But Singer's Fans Are Defending Her Silence

Katy Perry has been under the spotlight due to her lack of reaction regarding the allegations against her ex-husband, Russell Brand.

Four women alleged he was guilty of raping, sexually assaulting and emotionally abusing them.

An exposé conducted by collaborating with media outlets, such as "Dispatches," from UK's Channel 4, and newspapers like The Sunday Times made various claims public.

In response to this, Russell published a video on YouTube to deny any wrongdoings accused of him.

Many of Katy Perry's supporters immediately jumped into action in response to the rising curiosity surrounding her silence about the British actor.

A Twitter user declared, "Let's not forget that Katy Perry is in no way accountable for what Russell Brand did."

The user was outraged when they heard others trying to pin the blame of a man's wrongdoings on a woman. "It is not her responsibility to answer for his atrocities," they said, adamant that suggesting she had any part in it was utterly wrong.

Responding to the user's lengthy post, some of the "American Idol" coaches' ardent supporters defended her.

"I can't believe someone would say that," remarked one fan. "What a shame."

"We all can only imagine what the results would have been had she spoken up," they said.

Many asked why everyone assumed that when Katy mentioned putting something in the back of her mind, it was referring to Russell assaulting other women. "It could be any number of reasons - most likely something else entirely," someone suggested.

One user commented, "It's so strange that people insist she take responsibility for his actions even though they are no longer together. They are not married anymore - why should she have to keep an eye on him?"

According to Hello Magazine, the sparks flew, and their relationship commenced shortly after at the MTV Video Music Awards.

On the last day of 2009, reports suggested Russell had asked Katy to marry him while enjoying a vacation in India.

The two ultimately became husband and wife at the Ranthambore Tiger Sanctuary in Rajasthan on October 23, 2010 - dressed in stunning Indian attire.

But just over a year after they tied the knot, Brand and Perry have chosen to end their union.
