Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley shared a health update after his hospitalization due to pneumonia.
Whibley's wife, Ariana Cooper Whibley, confirmed that the musician was rushed to the hospital due to a lung infection that could have resulted in heart failure. He was transferred to the medical facility's in-patient services after staying the entire night at the emergency room to ensure his recovery.
After his discharge, he revealed that he continues his recuperation at home but clarified he is not "out of the woods" yet.

On Tuesday, September 19, Whibley took to Sum 41's official X page to give their fans an update and thank them for their love and support following his health scare.
"Although I'm not out of the woods yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I'm staying positive and doing my best to get through all of this," he said.
The 43-year-old "Still Waiting" singer added that he remains bedridden and has a hard time breathing after his hospitalization. He disclosed that he still experiences tight chest pains and wild fever dreams.

As he responds well to the treatment, Whibley said he is trying his best to feel better before Sum 41's scheduled appearance at the "When We Were Young" festival in Las Vegas.

What Happened to Deryck Whibley?
Whibley's update came after his wife informed fans that he had been discharged from the hospital and was being taken care of by her and his mother, who is a registered nurse.
"The pressure and strain on his heart and lungs has improved and he is able to breathe without as much pain," she explained.
The "Over My Head" crooner and Ariana wed in 2015 and share son Lydon Idby and daughter Quentin Arlo.
Prior to the recent hospital admission, Whibley also suffered liver and kidney failure in April 2014, leading him to collapse on his home's kitchen floor. He underwent treatment and had his doctors detoxify his body for a week.
The previous health scare led him to decide to become sober and enter a healing journey with his wife, who went through depression and a suicide attempt.
