Chris Brown is being sued for $2 million after he failed to pay City National Bank (CNB) for a loan to invest in franchising two branches of the Popeyes restaurants.

According to reports, CNB attempted to collect a few years after the disgraced singer loaned money in 2018, but to no avail.

"As of February 17, 2023, Borrower and Guarantors owe $2,140,901.74 in unpaid principal and interest," CNB claimed.

Brown is not the only individual the bank is going after, however, they did note that "Mr. Brown is a personal guarantor,' which is why he is being sued.

The lawsuit is in Georgia, however, CNB reportedly filed a case in Los Angeles, where the "Under the Influence" singer resides.

Chris Brown's Legal Trouble

Brown is no stranger to legal trouble. Back in 2009, he received five years probation as well as domestic violence counseling after pleading guilty to physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, and fellow singer, Rihanna.

According to reports, despite completing his community labor and domestic violence classes, Brown still experienced the lasting effects of his actions in 2009.

When he was asked about the incident with Rihanna, the singer threw a fit backstage; he confronted the staff of Good Morning America, and even threw a chair at a window, before walking out of the set shirtless.

In 2012, he participated in a brawl in a New York City nightclub, which resulted in eight people being injured. Other celebrities involved included Drake, basketball player Tony Parker, and others.

Months after that incident, Brown violated his restraining order. He appeared at a party where Rihanna happened to also be present.

Since then, there have been a myriad of cases filed against the "Superhero" singer, and both his music career and personal life have not been doing so great.
